The highest ski resort in the "Three Valleys" region (in the French Alps) is Val Thorens. Val Thorens resort is built on the mountainside at an altitude of 2,300m. You can only get there by car or bus from Geneva, Lyon and Chambery airports. If you want to go by train, you can only get to Moutiers (37 km from the resort), and then you still have to change buses.
